Project Overview
A full renovation of a historic urban townhouse, transforming it into a sustainable, eco-friendly residence while preserving its architectural heritage. This project aimed to blend modern green technologies with the charm of the original structure, incorporating solar energy, rainwater harvesting, and sustainable building materials.
Project Challenges
Retrofitting the old structure with modern technology was difficult due to space limitations and outdated infrastructure. Additionally, maintaining the historic character of the building while integrating sustainable features required a careful balance between preservation and innovation.
Project Solution
A thorough assessment of the building’s structural integrity was conducted to ensure it could support the new green technologies. Solar panels were discreetly installed on the roof, and a rainwater harvesting system was added. Reclaimed wood and recycled materials were used for the interior renovation. The facade was restored to maintain its historical charm, while the interior was transformed into a modern, energy-efficient space.
Key features:
- Exterior Renovation: Facade restored with eco-friendly paints and materials.
- Interior Renovation: Use of reclaimed wood, recycled materials, and energy-efficient lighting.
- Sustainability Features: Solar panels and rainwater harvesting system, along with an efficient insulation system.
